Ohio residents on October 5 can participate in the first Statewide Ohio March for Life at the State Capitol in Columbus.

Ohio Right to Life, in partnership with the national March for Life Organization and Center for Christian Virtue, has organized this pro-life advocacy event.

“For 49 years, we have been marching with the mission to end abortion by uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square,” said March for Life Education and Defense Fund President Jeanne Mancini. “Our vision at the March for Life is a world where the beauty and dignity of every human life are valued and protected.”

The March for Life, held in Washington D.C., is an annual event that attracts crowds of marchers from across the U.S. who gather together to act as a voice for the pre-born. Ohio Right to Life endeavors to harness that same passion in Ohio at the march next month.

“… I am thrilled to help gather all Ohio citizens who believe in the dignity of each human person, including the preborn, to stand as one voice for the end to the violence of abortion in our state … ,” March for Life Executive Director Peter Range said in a press statement.

The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Ohio State Capitol Square, facing South High Street. The capitol building is at 1 Capitol Sq., Columbus, OH. A pre-rally concert by Damascus Worship will kick off the event and be followed at 11:00 a.m. by a rally. Among the numerous pro-life speakers scheduled to attend, in addition to organization officials Mancini and Range, are His Excellency Bishop David Bonnar, Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown; Pastor David Forbes, Columbus Christian Center; Dr. Alveda King, Alveda King Ministries; Aaron Baer, president of Center for Christian Virtue; and Peter Range, executive director of Ohio March for Life. The march is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. and the event will conclude at 2:00 p.m.

“This historic march will be an opportunity to showcase to our country that not only does Ohio believe in the right to life for all humans, but we hold the courage to stand on our values and speak out on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. Elected Officials will be reminded on October 5th that Ohioans are undeniably pro-life and abortion has no home here in the Buckeye State,” Ohio Right to Life Director of Communications Elizabeth Whitmarsh said in the statement.

March for Life encourages participants to bring their own hand-held signs to the event. Signs on sticks are against Ohio Capitol regulations and will not be permitted on the premises. This is a free public event that is open to all pro-life supporters, and registration is not required. Options for parking around the Ohio Statehouse can be found at ohiostatehouse.org.

The Ohio March for Life is encouraging event participants to contact their legislators before the march and set up a time to meet with them following the March and Rally to make their voices heard that Ohio wants an end to abortion.

“Together we march to end abortion, and we will,” Mancini said.
