Former President Donald J. Trump Thursday reacted to the news that President Joe Biden will cancel $10,000 in student loans per borrower, hitting the 46th president for his economic record.

Trump said:

Joe Biden and the Radical Left Democrats have just orchestrated another election enhancing money grab, this time to the tune of $300,000,000,000—and just like I predicted, it’s coming right out of the pocket of the working-class Americans who are struggling the most! Crippling inflation, unaffordable energy prices, and WAR—all things that should never have happened. But if that wasn’t enough, now Americans are bailing out College Administrators who fleeced students, and those who opted for Degrees there was no way they could afford. America is a nation in decline, and the cliff into oblivion is within sight. Stop voting for Democrats! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

The debt cancellation plan applies to those who have student loans and make less than $125,000 per year.

Tennessee’s politicians have been lambasting Biden over the decision, as have other Republicans, and even some Democrats.

“President Biden’s decision to waive student loan debt will increase inflation and is another gift to the rich. Tennesseans should not be forced to pay for coastal elites to get their PhD in gender studies,” said U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) after the decision was announced.

The U.S. Congressional delegation from the state joined Blackburn.

“Today is a sad day for America,” said Representative John Rose (R-TN-06). “Americans who made tough decisions to pay off their student loans or not take any out at all will now be forced to foot the bill for others because President Biden wants to improve his poll numbers. This is not the American Dream.”

On the other side of the aisle is Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09).

He applauded Biden’s action.

“President Biden has made good on his promise to ease the debt burden on lower- and middle-class students while avoiding a windfall for those who can afford to repay their loans,” he said.

“The high cost of borrowing should not prevent Americans from pursuing a college degree or result in such crushing debt that they can’t get started in life. I applaud the President’s commonsense, courageous and conscientious policy announcement.”
