A U.S. senator from Tennessee has been hammering the Department of Justice (DOJ) for nearly a week after news broke that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

“There are plenty of great people who work for the FBI and have worked for the FBI, but there is a cabal within the FBI that has politicized the agency, and they did this from the time Donald Trump came down the escalator and announced his campaign – they have been after him,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said on Fox News. “So in some way, shape or form they cooked up this raid – they had [FBI Director] Christopher Wray agree with the raid – and of course [U.S. Attorney General] Merrick Garland signed off on this.”

“It is extraordinary and it is unprecedented because the Trump administration was negotiating with the FBI and [the National] Archives on documents,” Blackburn said. “This is something every administration does. You did not see the FBI raid the Obamas, the Clintons, the Bushes.

Blackburn demanded answers from the DOJ regarding the process of obtaining and authorizing the warrant to raid Trump’s home.

But Blackburn has also spent a week slamming the DOJ on her Twitter account, saying numerous times that it is targeting conservatives.

“Joe Biden is targeting his top political opponent. He did it in 2016, and he’s doing it again now,” she said Monday, referring to the Obama administration’s successful attempt to obtain a FISA warrant to monitor the Trump campaign in 2016.

“When the Department of Justice refuses to investigate Hunter Biden for its political nature but targets Biden’s top political opponent, we have a serious problem,” she said earlier Monday.

“It’s no coincidence that the Department of Justice continually targets conservatives. This is a deeply rooted problem that the left has been working toward,” she said Sunday on Twitter.

Before that, she said, “Americans shouldn’t have to fear the impartiality of our Justice Department.”

In total, The Tennessee Star counted nearly 30 tweets from Blackburn’s official account regarding the DOJ, FBI and the raid itself from the past week.
