U.S. Representative Mark Green (R-TN-07) announced Thursday that he would host his fourth annual Service Academy Day at Franklin High School on September 10 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

According to the statement, the formal program will begin at 11:00 a.m.

“It’s a great joy when I have the opportunity to speak with young Tennesseans interested in attending a Service Academy,” Green said. “I’ll never forget my own nomination process. Attending West Point was a great honor, and my time there led me to a lifetime of service. I look forward to meeting these bright students.”

Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy will be in attendance, as well as representatives from Army, Navy, and the Air Force ROTC.

A representative from the Department of Defense Medical Evaluation Review Board will additionally be in attendance.

This event is open to the public, and students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and others interested in learning more about the Service Academy nomination process are encouraged to attend Green’s Service Academy Day.

Green is an Army combat veteran who attended West Point.

The representative currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis. Additionally, he serves as ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, Migration, and International Economic Policy.
