Kari Lake’s campaign for governor of Arizona says it is “highly confident” as it hurdles towards Tuesday’s primary election.

“We feel highly confident. Kari is working hard traveling to all corners of the state. We had a huge rally with over 1,000 people in Tucson last night. And last week five polls came out with Kari leading by double digits,” said Lake’s chief strategist, Billy Grant. “Combined with Robson‘s private jet and state plane scandal, we couldn’t ask for a better last week of the campaign.”

Grant referred to Robson’s recent campaign appearance with Gov. Doug Ducey (R), who allegedly used a state airplane to fly Robson back from the event.

The Lake campaign and its attorney filed a complaint with Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) over the incident.

“The state airplane is not a shuttle service that can be rented out by wealthy politicians when the private jet they normally use is unavailable,” said Lake’s attorney Tim La Sota. “And the governor has no power under the law to permit such effective rental agreements to those he favors politically. Surely after over a decade in public office he must know this.”

Last week, a poll from Arizona-based OH Predictive Insights (OHPI) showed Lake with a strong lead over Robson, and noted that “Arizona likely voters revealed a once competitive race between Robson & Lake [is] now looking like a blowout for Lake.”

That poll, conducted July 27 among 502 Arizonans who are likely GOP primary voters, showed Lake with a commanding 51 percent lead over Robson’s 33 percent. Three other candidates notched single-digit support.

Lake’s lead is well outside the margin of error for the poll, which was 4.3 percent.

“The inter-party battle of the GOP is about to hit its climax and the data indicates Lake is in a commanding position,” OHPI Chief of Research Mike Noble said. “In these final weeks of the race, Lake’s campaign is like Katniss Everdeen – the girl on fire.”
