After recent criticism of President Biden’s ‘war on American energy,’ Representative Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) has called for Biden to resume the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Congressman Loudermilk relayed his thoughts to The Georgia Star News.
“For the U.S. to have a robust energy sector, it would first require having a president who believes in the oil and gas industry, not one who vilifies it at every turn. But if President Biden were to embrace returning America to energy independence, one of the first things he would do would be resume construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline,” Loudermilk said.
The 2,687 mile-long pipeline has channeled some 3.3 billion barrels of crude oil since the beginning of its operation in 2010.
“Not only would this help the supply side of the equation, it would show the oil and gas industry [Biden] is willing to embrace real solutions that would help alleviate the pain Americans are feeling at the pump,” Loudermilk said.
Last year, the owner of the Keystone pipeline, TC Energy, released a statement that it had “terminated” the Keystone XL Pipeline project after its presidential permit was revoked by President Biden’s executive order on January 20, 2021.
“The next steps would be to abandon a slew of legislative and policy initiatives [Biden’s] administration is pursuing, such as raising the taxes on oil and gas companies and nominating those who would discourage banks from lending to oil and gas companies,” the representative said.
Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn (R) recently made the same suggestion as Loudermilk.
“Russian gas is once again flowing through the Nord Stream pipeline. Now would be a good time for Biden to admit he was wrong and restart the Keystone pipeline,” Blackburn said.
Gas in Georgia recently dipped to under $4 a gallon and at $3.888, only Texas and South Carolina have better gas prices than the Peach State. Nonetheless, the price of oil in the United States is still $25 dollars more per barrel than it was a year ago.
“The U.S. is one of the top oil producers in the world – no one can do it cleaner and better than we do – all it takes is a president who believes an energy-independent America is a much stronger America,” Congressman Loudermilk told The Georgia Star News.

You need to come to the realization that our moron monarch isn’t concerned with American strength. China paid him $31 million to destroy our economy and our middle class. So far he is delivering on his commitment to China.
This bonehead president does only what his left wing idiots tell him to do. Leaving our country in a down hill slide. We are with no protection from him and his advisors until November. Can’t come soon enough!
