During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on abortion rights Wednesday, an abortionist accused Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) of using “inflammatory language” after he described the gruesome reality of what happens to an unborn baby during abortion.

Using the language of the abortion industry, Dr. Yashica Robinson, an at-large member of the board of directors of Physicians for Reproductive Health, said during the hearing she provides abortion “care” up “until 20 weeks gestational age.”

The exchange between Roy and Robinson continued:

Roy: The procedure for an abortion when we’re talking about at 20 weeks, as I understand it, is dilation and extraction. Have you performed abortions at that stage and, in doing so, have you had baby parts that you’ve had to discard or store in some capacity? Legs, arms …

Robinson: One of the things that you all have done throughout this hearing is just use inflammatory language.

Roy: Ma’am, ma’am, it’s a simple question. Have you had human parts – baby parts, arms, legs, as a result of an abortion performed at the time you just acknowledged –

Robinson: I am a physician and a proud abortion provider. There’s nothing that you can say … that makes it difficult to talk about the care that I provide.

Roy: Yes or no? Ma’am? … So have there been baby parts? Yes or no? … Where and how have they been stored? … So, the answer to the question is fairly obvious … That there are baby parts and you don’t want to talk about how they’re being stored. You don’t want to talk about putting them in freezers. You don’t want to talk about putting them in Pyrex dishes. You [don’t] want to talk about the videos that we have from Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in Houston, Texas. You don’t want to talk about the reality.

Using animated medical images, OB/GYN Dr. Anthony Levatino, a former abortionist who became a pro-life advocate, describes in a series of videos, first published at Live Action, exactly what occurs to the unborn baby during an abortion at various stages of gestation.

As Levatino notes in the video above, in a “dilation and evacuation” (D&E) abortion, also called a dismemberment abortion – the surgical procedure used to abort babies in the second trimester of pregnancy – the abortionist first dilates the mother’s cervix and then uses instruments to dismember – pull the baby’s arms, legs, and other body parts from his or her body – and then crush the baby’s head and extract the baby’s body parts from the uterus.

The Democrats’ hearing was titled “Revoking Your Rights: The Ongoing Crisis in Abortion Care Access.”
