Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday endorsed Dave McCormick in his campaign for the GOP nomination to represent Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate.

The former Trump administration official called McCormick a “warrior,” opting to endorse him over Dr. Mehmet Oz and other prominent Republican candidates.

“@DaveMcCormickPA is a warrior, & I’ve seen his toughness in action since we were at @WestPoint_USMA. He’ll push for strong borders, confront the CCP head-on, defend life & our #2A, & work tirelessly to restore America’s energy independence. I’m proud to give him my endorsement,” Pompeo said in a tweet.

McCormick, who has close connections to many former Trump officials, has exponentially grown his campaign since launching roughly a month ago.

“It’s a real honor to accept Secretary @MikePompeo’s endorsement of my campaign for Senate. As a fellow West Point grad, he is someone who successfully represented the America First agenda with strength on the world stage,” McCormick responded.

In addition to Pompeo, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) endorsed Dave McCormick in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate and joined the candidate on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania.

Furthermore, Sean Parnell, a former candidate for U.S. Senate who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, backed McCormick after he suspended his campaign for the same position.

“I have been watching and hoping a candidate would emerge – someone who could give me total confidence that they will fight for Pennsylvanians and never back down to the Woke mob, but that just hasn’t happened, until now,” Parnell told Fox News. “Dave McCormick is that candidate.”

In the Republican primary, the former hedge fund manager is taking on numerous opponents: former lieutenant governor contender Jeff Bartos, political commentator Kathy Barnette, former ambassador to Denmark Carla Sands, and Oz, in addition to multiple other candidates.
