Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday endorsed U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann in his reelection campaign.

Fleischmann, who has represented Tennessee’s Third Congressional District since 2011, serves as a member of the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee.

“Congressman Chuck Fleischmann is a terrific advocate for the wonderful people of Tennessee. He works tirelessly to Lower Taxes, Secure our Borders, and Defend our Country. He strongly supports our brave Military, Vets and Law Enforcement, and he will always protect our Second Amendment. Chuck has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” Trump said in the endorsement.

In recent years, the lawmaker has easily won the election to his seat. The district, which stretches from the northern to the southern border of the state, gave him a 37-point victory in 2020. Additionally, Fleischmann did not face a challenger in the Republican primary.

The incumbent welcomed the support of the former commander-in-chief.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of President Trump for my campaign. I’ll always put the people of Tennessee, and America, FIRST,” he said in a tweet after the endorsement.

In recent months, Fleischmann has remained a sharp critic of President Joe Biden and decisions made by members of his administration.

Recently, the congressman took aim at Biden over rising prices for goods and services across the county.

“Every month, it is getting more expensive for Tennesseans to make every day ends meet. For the fifth straight month, inflation has topped over five percent, and compared to just one year ago, consumer prices are up over 6.2 percent – the highest since December 1990. Instead of raising taxes and spending trillions of dollars we don’t have, the Biden Administration and Congress need to work together on commonsense fiscal policies to stop inflation, raise wages, and restore America’s economy,” said Fleischmann.
