Social media platform Parler on Tuesday announced that the company will move its headquarters from Nevada to Nashville, Tennessee.

The website, which is popular among conservatives, will follow a growing trend of businesses and conservative personalities moving to the Volunteer State.

“Tennessee has great weather, an abundance of Southern hospitality, wonderful music and barbecue. Even more than that, though, Tennessee shares Parler’s vision of individual liberty and free expression. We are looking forward to getting settled in our new community, and to the creativity and innovation that will come from working together in this vibrant city,” CEO George Farmer said in a statement.

The state’s track record throughout the COVID-19 pandemic also provided an incentive for the company to move, with Farmer highlighting the move “coincides with continued reopening efforts after the pandemic’s lockdowns, and Parler is eager to assemble staff for in-person gatherings and the much-needed face-to-face interactions that will propel the company forward.”

Furthermore, in the statement announcing the move, the company touted the success of the state in recruiting new businesses to invest.

“Nashville has become a growing hub for entrepreneurs and corporate America,” specifically citing Oracle Corp. (NYSE: ORCL) and its record-breaking development to bring 8,500 jobs to a 65-acre waterfront site over the next decade. Parler also noted this month’s announcements from Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) regarding its $5.6 billion plans to make electric vehicles and batteries at a megasite near Memphis, as well as firearms maker Smith & Wesson’s decision to move its headquarters from Massachusetts to East Tennessee,” the emailed statement read.

Parler will also join prominent conservative figures who have relocated to Nashville, like Tomi Lahren and Ben Shapiro.

Notably, Parler’s CEO George Farmer is married to Candace Owens, who made the move to Nashville previously with The Daily Wire.
