The Virginia GOP launched an ad bashing Democrat gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe for his recent fundraiser with former President Bill Clinton.

“I go back with President Clinton and Hillary to 1980,” McAuliffe says in an interview included in the ad. “We’ve vacationed together for years. We’re best friends.”

The ad also focuses on Clinton’s ties to late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Clinton was known for flying on Epstein’s plane called “The Lolita Express” to the billionaire’s private island. Epstein was accused of having sex with and trafficking minors before his death under mysterious circumstances in jail.

It subtly attempts to connect McAuliffe to Epstein.

“I’ve traveled with Bill Clinton all over the globe,” McAuliffe says in an interview clip later in the ad.

It also notes that Epstein donated to the Clinton Foundation, the family’s non-profit organization.

“Those who give to the Clinton Foundation have been friends of mine for years and years,” McAuliffe says in another clip.

McAuliffe, the governor of Virginia from 2014 to 2018 who is attempting to serve his second non-consecutive term, was also a board member of the Clinton Foundation prior to his first stint as governor.

McAuliffe’s opponent, businessman Glenn Youngkin, has been much less subtle in his attacks tying McAuliffe to Epstein, and other seedy characters.

“After spending a few days prowling around Vegas with an alleged abuser and taking $100,000 from an ally of rapist Harvey Weinstein, McAuliffe is fundraising with his mentor Bill Clinton, a close pal of child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and frequent flyer on the Lolita Express,” Youngkin campaign spokesman told The Virginia Star by email before the Clinton’s hosted the McAuliffe fundraiser. “The Clintons campaigned for McAuliffe during his first two runs for governor and now it appears the Clinton machine is mobilizing again for McAuliffe’s third run.”

According to Syracuse.comMcAuliffe hauled in more than $425,000 from the event, which was held at one of the Clintons’ retreats in upstate New York.
